Finance Manager

Finance Manager, salary range $65,000 to $80,000 depending on experience.

This position reports to the County Administrator; and, appraises the County's financial position and issues reports on County's financial stability, makes financial recommendations to the County Administrator and Board of County Commissioners; analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures; works with departments to submit and process financial accounting, oversees audits, approves monthly payroll, and expenditures; maintains fixed assets and depreciation schedules, serves as financial officer in disasters, oversees financial accounting and reporting for County grants, coordinates, and reviews all insurance policies including property and causality, health insurance, workman's compensation, etc., assists County Administrator with Certification of mill levies, performs other duties as assigned by County Administrator.  Required: at least 3 years experience in similar duties, an undergraduate degree in a related field. Preferred: MBA, CPA, CMA, government accounting experience. Willing to provide further training for the right person. Open until filled. Dispatch Detention

Rio Grande County is seeking a Dispatch/Detention Officer.  High School Diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Interaction with inmates required. Must be 21 years of age, pass background investigation and 5 panel drug test, including testing for marijuana required. Jail Cook

Rio Grande County Detention Facility is seeking a:

Full Time Cook


General Summary of Duties:

Performs institutional cooking work involving the preparation of a large volume and variety of foods and desserts for 30 plus inmates and staff.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (duties include, but not limited to):

*Compiles weekly menus, prepares and serves lunch and dinner.

*Keeps daily meal log and number of meals served assisting in determining the cost per meal to stay within budget requirements.

*Orders and receives all stock from different distributors on a weekly basis.

*Operates, monitors, cleans, and maintains kitchen with assistance from trustees.

*Follows standard recipes for preparation of food.  Needs to follow nutritional guidelines and obtain recipes for inmates with specific health problems (e.g. diabetic recipes).

*Performs related work as requested by supervisor.


High School Diploma or GED; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Background check and drug testing required. Must be at least 21 years of age. 


Minimum Salary:

$12.45 per hour
